Apong Resources Sdn. Bhd. (1487801-W) was established in November 2022 to bring Borneo’s first Apong Golden Syrup to the world through sustainable practices and innovation. Our company is committed to preserving and promoting the modern technology in the production of Borneo Apong Golden Syrup, a natural sweetener derived from the Nypa palm.

Our company is working closely with Koperasi Apong Samarahan Berhad, a cooperative that represents the Apong (Nypa) community in Samarahan. We strive to empower local communities while ensuring sustainable practices.
Koperasi Apong Samarahan Berhad operates Pusat Pemprosesan Apong (PPA) Samarahan, a centralized Nypa production center developed by researchers from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) to assist the Apong community in modernizing production.
This collaboration focuses on upholding high standards of hygiene and quality, with our products proudly certified by JAKIM HALAL and MESTI.
Our Story
Borneo Apong Golden Syrup (BAGS) was developed to enhance the economic prosperity of Apong communities through rebranding initiatives. This effort modernizes the traditional production methods by integrating modern tools and implementing systematic processes.
The industry creates sustainable income to the communities in rural area and also supports conservation of mangrove ecosystem.
